Create a resource
How to create a new resource
Creating a resource lets you register the people, rooms, or equipment your business needs to deliver its services in Aura.
Fill in the name and description
- Resource Name: A clear name that identifies the resource. For example: “Ana (Physiotherapist)”, “Room 1”, or “Massage booth”.
- Description: An optional explanation that provides more context about the resource.
Add tags (optional)
Tags help you classify and filter your resources. Type a tag and press enter to add it.
For example, you can use tags like: “ground floor”, “senior”, “premium”, “available on weekends”.
Set the quantity
The Quantity indicates how many units of this resource exist.
- If you have 2 identical massage rooms, create a single resource called “Massage room” with a quantity of 2.
- If a resource has no limit (for example, access to a common area), enter -1 to mark it as Unlimited.
Each reservation consumes one unit of the resource. If the quantity is 2 and there are 2 reservations at the same time, the resource will be fully booked and Aura won’t offer it for more appointments at that time.
Configure capacity (optional)
If you need to control how many people each unit of the resource can serve, enable the Manage Capacity option and define:
- Minimum capacity: The minimum number of people required for the resource to be used. For example, a group class might need at least 3 attendees.
- Maximum capacity: The maximum number of people each unit can serve. For example, a meeting room with capacity for 10 people.
If you don’t need to control capacity, simply leave this option disabled.
Enable or disable the resource
The Resource Active option controls whether the resource is available for bookings. Inactive resources don’t appear as an option when creating a reservation.
This is useful, for example, if a professional is on vacation: you can temporarily deactivate their resource without deleting it.
Create one resource for each distinct element you need to manage. If you have three physiotherapists with different schedules or specialties, create three separate resources (one for each) instead of a single resource with quantity 3. This way you can assign different schedules and services to each one.
After creating the resource
Once created, the next step is to assign the resource to the services that need it. This is done from each service’s settings, in the required resources section.
