What are resources
The people, rooms, and equipment in your business
Resources represent everything your business needs to deliver a service: professionals, rooms, booths, equipment, or any other element that gets occupied when a customer books an appointment.
Every time a reservation is created, Aura checks that the required resources are available. If a resource is already occupied at that time, Aura won’t allow the booking and will suggest alternatives.
Resources are only available in Advanced mode for reservations. In Basic mode, you don’t need to set them up.
Examples of resources
Depending on your type of business, resources can look very different:
People
- Physiotherapist
- Stylist
- Doctor
- Personal trainer
- Aesthetician
Rooms and spaces
- Massage room
- Beauty booth
- Meeting room
- Group class studio
Equipment and materials
- Treatment table
- Salon chair
- Laser equipment
- Ultrasound machine
How resources work
Each resource has a quantity that indicates how many units are available. When a customer books a service that requires that resource, one unit is consumed. While that unit is occupied by a reservation, it won’t be available for other appointments at the same time.
For example, if you have 3 massage rooms and all 3 are booked at 10:00 AM, Aura won’t offer that time as available for a service that requires a room.
Key information for each resource
Each resource includes:
- Name and description: To identify the resource.
- Tags: Keywords to classify and filter resources (for example: “ground floor”, “specialist”, “premium”).
- Quantity: How many units of this resource exist. It can be a specific number or unlimited.
- Capacity: Optionally, you can define how many people each unit of the resource can serve at the same time (minimum and maximum).
- Status: Active or inactive. Inactive resources don’t appear as an option when booking.
Where they’re managed
Resources are managed from the Resources section in your agent’s side menu. There you’ll see a table with all your resources, their tags, quantity, capacity, and status.
