Add content

How to add content to the knowledge base

There are three ways to enrich your agent’s knowledge base. Click the Add button at the top of the section and choose the type of content you want to include.

Write the information your agent should know directly.

1

Click Add

Click the Add button and select the text option.

2

Enter a name

Give it a descriptive Context Name to help you identify this content later. For example: “Opening hours” or “Cancellation policy”.

3

Write the content

In the Specific Instructions field, write all the information you want your agent to know. Be as clear and detailed as possible.

4

Save

Click save to add the content to the knowledge base.

Upload documents so the agent can automatically extract their content.

1

Click Add

Click the Add button and select the file option.

2

Select the file

Drag the file to the designated area or click to select it from your device.

3

Save

The file will be uploaded and its content will be available to the agent.

Supported file formats are: PDF, DOCX, XLSX, and XLS. Once uploaded, the file cannot be modified. If you need to update the content, delete the existing entry and create a new one with the updated file.

Paste a webpage address so the agent can extract its content.

1

Click Add

Click the Add button and select the web link option.

2

Paste the URL

Enter the webpage address in the Website URL field. The system will show a preview with the estimated content size.

3

Assign a name

Give the extracted content a descriptive Context Name.

4

Save

Click save so the agent can access the information from that page.

Manage existing content

In the knowledge base table you can see all added content with the following columns:

  • Type: text, file, or link
  • Name: the descriptive name you gave it
  • Source: the URL or file name
  • Size: how much space it takes up
  • Created date: when it was added
  • Last updated: when it was last modified

To delete content, open its options and select Delete. You’ll be asked to confirm before it’s removed.

Deleting an entry means the agent will no longer have access to that information. Make sure it’s no longer needed before removing it.
